Academic Board to be set up at Mauritius Maritime Training Academy

GIS - 09 November, 2016: An Academic Board will be set up at the Mauritius Maritime Training Academy.
The Board will supervise and develop the academic activities of the Academy, maintain high standards in teaching and research and determine all matters related to courses and subjects, admission and enrolment of students, assessment and admission to courses. It will also be responsible for formulating and reviewing policies, rules, guidelines and procedures in relation to academic matters.  
Furthermore, the Board will monitor the implementation and effectiveness of policies at the Academy to sustain academic quality and assurance and elaborate recommendations on collaboration and networking with foreign maritime institutions.
The Mauritius Maritime Training Academy is a national and regional training centre for seafarers, port workers and other personnel employed in the shipping and related shipping sectors. Its mission is to provide quality and value added training adapted to the needs of the Mauritius Maritime Industry and the region as per international standard.
