International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer
The United Nations General Assembly declared 16 September of each year as the International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer to commemorate the date of the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer in 1987; and to promote activities in accordance with the objectives of the Protocol and its amendments.
