GIS – 8 December 2015: The Certificate of Primary Education (CPE) 2015 results have been made public yesterday by the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES). A total of 22 652 candidates were examined. The percentage pass of cohort 2014 is 82.73%.
Out of the 17 589 school candidates examined for the first time, the pass percentage is 77.68%.
The number of candidates who repeated the CPE Examinations was 2 845 and the pass rate is 24.50%. A total of 2 218 private candidates took the exams and the pass rate stands at 15.06%. The pass rate for the 1 370 candidates from Zones d’Education Prioritaires (ZEP) schools is 45.62%.
A total of 1 909 pupils, that is, 794 boys and 1 115 girls, have obtained at least 4 A+.
A resit examination will be held on Monday 21 December 2015 for candidates who have passed in three subjects, including at least two core subjects (namely English, Mathematics or French) and require one subject to obtain an award of CPE.
