GIS - 21 November, 2013: A business delegation led by the Director of the commercial department from the province of Shanxi in China, Mr Sun Yuejin, is currently in Mauritius to explore investment possibilities in the Jin Fei Industrial Zone project at Riche Terre.
The delegation is comprised of entrepreneurs, mainly Chief Executive Officers of companies seeking for opportunities of investment, particularly in sectors such as hospitality, logistics, light manufacturing and distribution.
During the course of the visit the Chinese delegation met the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Xavier-Luc Duval and had meetings with other ministers as well as the promoters of the Jin Fei project, representatives of the Port Authority and the Tourism department.
It will be recalled that this visit follows discussions that the VPM Duval had with the Vice-Governor of the Province of Shanxi, Mr Wang Yixin, during his visit in Mauritius earlier in September this year.
It will be noted that so far, two warehouses for the processing of products for re-export are operational at the Jin Fei industrial zone. By 2014, Jin Fei will also accommodate a residential complex and offices. Furthermore, a Chinese group Cin-Jin is also envisaging to invest in a real estate development project to be set up on around 71 hectares of land in the industrial zone.
