Chinese President arrives in Mauritius this evening on a friendship visit

GIS - 27 July, 2018: The President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Xi Jinping, will be on a Friendship Visit to Mauritius as from this evening.  The Chinese President will be accompanied by his spouse, Madame Peng Liyuan, and an official delegation comprising 11 members.  
 
During his visit the President will have a tête-à-tête and working session with the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Jugnauth, at the Hilton Mauritius Resort and Spa, Flic en Flac on 28 July 2018 for in-depth exchange of views on further developing Mauritius-China relations and cooperation as well as international and regional issues of common concern.
 
President Xi Jinping is stopping over in Mauritius on his way back to China after wrapping up State visits to the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of South Africa from 19 to 24 July 2018. He attended the 10th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa from 25 to 27 July.
 
President Xi Jinping is currently general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, chairman of the CPC Central Military Commission, and chairman of the People's Republic of China Central Military Commission.
