GIS - 22 October 2014: The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) has made an appeal to partners and stakeholders in Russia to fully support the forthcoming developments namely, the Transaero direct flights to Mauritius scheduled for the 31st October 2014 , and the second A380 Emirates Airline direct flight to Mauritius which will be operational as from 26th October 2014.
Mauritius was present in Russia and the CIS from 19 to 25 September for a roadshow that was organised by the MTPA. The roadshow was held in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Kazakstan and featured participation of stakeholders from the Mauritian tourism industry. To mark the new season and the presence of Mauritius, three events were carried in different cities namely a reception for key partners in Moscow. Two workshops were held in emerging markets with high travel potential like Novosibirsk, which is the third most populated city in Russia and Almaty, the economical centre of Kazakhstan with high quote of upmarket target audience.
Both Russia and CIS countries remain high potential markets for Mauritius. According to the MTPA it is important to keep the visibility of Mauritius high and promote our country as a travel destination , combining intensive trade and consumer PR & marketing tools.
