Mauritius and Ghana to step up collaboration in the field of higher education

GIS - 4 December 2014: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on collaboration in the fields of tertiary education, science, research and technology will be signed by the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Ghana.
The MoU will pave the way for collaboration on issues pertaining to the mutual recognition of equivalence of qualifications as well as the establishment of links of cooperation between universities and institutions of higher learning (including technical education) of the two countries.
The agreement will also provide for the exchange of information, experiences and expertise between the respective agencies dealing with quality assurance. The establishment of Centres of Excellence in various fields and collaborative research is also envisaged under the MoU.
The collaborative document will in addition cover for a scholarship programme pertaining to postgraduate, specialised or other research studies.
The signature of the MoU is in line with the vision of Government to transform the country into a knowledge-based economy through the use of science, technology and innovation to partner with African countries.
