Mauritius and Palestine to reinforce cooperation in the field of Tourism

GIS - 19 October,2015:  Mauritius and Palestine will further reinforce cooperation in the tourism sector whereby both countries will explore the various possibilities to attract more tourists from Palestine to Mauritius and vice-versa.

This was the focus of discussion during a courtesy call by the Minister of Tourism of Palestine, Mrs Rula Ma’ayah, on the Prime Minister, Sir Anerood Jugnauth, on October 16, at the Treasury Building in Port Louis.

In a statement, Mrs Rula Ma’ayah, expressed overall satisfaction regarding discussions with the Prime Minister in view of reinforcing relations between Palestine and Mauritius. She also thanked Mauritius for its unflinching support to the Palestinian cause in the United Nations Human Rights Council. According to her, Mauritius though being a small country has equally the same importance as other countries, for its vote is determining.
Mrs Rula Ma’ayah also qualified her mission as being fruitful for having the opportunity to discover the numerous facets in the tourism sphere which she can share back in Palestine with regards tourism promotion. 
It will be recalled that the Minister of Tourism of Palestine, was in Mauritius from 15 to 18 October 2015 at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and External Communications, Mr Xavier-Luc Duval, during his visit in Palestine this year.
During her stay, Mrs Rula Ma’ayah also met different stakeholders evolving in the tourism sector as well as attended several conferences.
