Mauritius to host Regional Workshop on Marine Spatial Planning

GIS - 06 August, 2018:  Mauritius will host a Regional Workshop on Marine Spatial Planning in collaboration with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, in October 2018. It will bring together participants from Mauritius, Comoros and Madagascar.
The Workshop will focus on the concepts of ecosystem-based management with application to data, information and national needs on decision support tools essential for Marine Spatial Planning and the modalities for implementing these concepts at national level.
Other topics of discussions include the exchange of international experiences, as well as best practices on Marine Spatial Planning in Africa and the approaches and potential ways of collaboration, cooperation and coordination with stakeholders in the context of Marine Spatial Planning.
