Myanmar Ambassador calls on Prime Minister

GIS29 September 2017: The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Mr U Myint Swe, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit, Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, yesterday afternoon at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
 
In a statement following the courtesy call Ambassador Swe qualified the meeting as pleasant and friendly during which he gave the Prime Minister an overview of the real situation in Myanmar.  He also discussed the possibility for both countries to sign a visa exemption agreement as well as a Memorandum of Understanding on double tax exemption for trade.
 
The President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar has appointed U Myint Swe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Republic of South Africa, concurrently as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Republic of Kenya.
