Placement of 200 Trainee Engineers in public sector bodies

GIS - 11 October, 2016: The Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training is making arrangements for the recruitment and placement of 200 Trainee Engineers in public sector bodies. This measure is in line with the strategy of the government to create job opportunities for young graduates as announced in the Budget 2016-2017.
Trainees enrolling for the scheme should be graduates in Engineering, from the following fields: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Mechatronics. They will undergo a pre-registration practical training that will be run over a period of two years. The training will be carried out under the supervision of a Registered Engineer. 
The Trainee Engineers will be paid a monthly stipend of Rs 23, 975, plus travelling allowance in accordance with the recommendations of the Pay Research Bureau. It is expected that the recruitment exercise will be completed, and the trainees in post by November 2016.
The training aims at ensuring the employability of the young graduates.
