Prime Minister in Rodrigues for launching of various projects

GIS  - 20 November, 2017: The Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, launched the fibre optic installation, Mauritius Rodrigues Submarine Cable (MARS) on 18 November 2017.
The installation works of MARS which consist of the laying of 677 kilometres of cables up to 3 000 metres deep in the sea, is expected to be completed in the next 24 months. The project value is to the tune of Rs 1.6 billion.
The Prime Minister was in Rodrigues for the launching of various projects. He was accompanied by the Financial Secretary, Mr Dev Manraj, the Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation, Mr Yogida Sawmynaden and other officials
He also inaugurated the Petit Gabriel Police station and the Tourism Office for Rodrigues.
