Prime Minister meets Delegation of Pakistan Navy

GIS - 11 January, 2018: A delegation of the Pakistan Navy Fleet headed by Rear Admiral Muhammad Amjad Kan Niazi met the Prime Minister, Minister of Home Affairs, External Communications and National Development Unit and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, today at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
Rear Admiral Muhammad Amjad Kan Niazi described his meeting with the Prime Minister as cordial and fruitful. He underlined that it is part of a continuous effort to bring the two countries closer and strengthen existing bonds.
He highlighted that issues discussed with Prime Minister Jugnauth focused mostly on training that the Pakistani Navy can provide to fight piracy and any other maritime related issues. The Rear Admiral underscored that both countries can work together to eradicate maritime threats in the region.
It is to be recalled that Pakistani Navy regularly visits Mauritius and during the current visit two ships with a crew of 600 persons have stopped over for three days.
