GIS – 04 July 2016: Some 200 graduates and postgraduates, in scarcity areas, will be enlisted for placement in the Civil Service under the Service to Mauritius Programme in view of providing them an opportunity to get work experience.
The focus of the Programme is to bridge the gap wherever there is a shortage of skills in high demand areas and provide support in the implementation of projects of high priority.
The Programme also meets the commitments of Government, under the Education Regulations, for the placement of Higher School Certificate laureates, who have opted to study locally for their undergraduate degree.
Graduates enlisted under the Programme are expected to participate and lead in research and analytical work on Mauritius’ development challenges, policies and project economic analysis methodologies as well as disseminate research outputs through the publication of policy papers, briefs and technical notes.
They are also required to develop new initiatives in the course of the fulfillment of the duties and improve internal management/administrative processes.
