IDENTIFICATION OF PASSENGERS TRAVELLING BY AIR OR SEA TO AND FROM RODRIGUES
According to the Aviation Security Directive dated 02 July 2014 issued by the Civil Aviation Department, new procedures are applicable in respect of the identification of passengers travelling by air to and from Rodrigues.
2. Passengers should produce the identification documents as follows:
(a) Foreign nationals should produce their valid passport;
(b) Mauritian nationals of full age should produce either a valid passport or a National Identity Card;
(c) in respect of accompanied minors, in the absence of a valid passport, their parents have to produce the birth certificate or a valid bus pass or other identification document issued by a recognized Educational/Training Institution;
(d) unaccompanied minors will be required to produce a valid passport or other identification document issued by a recognized Educational/Training Institution; and
(e) in the absence of the above mentioned documents, a minor will have to produce an identity document issued by the Police Station of his/her locality.
3. The same procedures are applicable for passengers travelling to and from Rodrigues by sea.
